Online Image Compression

JPG, PNG and WebP all work, and you can do many at once. Compression happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded to any server.

Pick images

Drag them into the dashed box, or click to choose from your file manager. Multiple files are fine.

Set strength

Standard suits most photos. Use light to protect quality, strong for the smallest file.

Download

Click the arrow on the right for a single file, or download all as a zip.

About image compression

Will compressed images look blurry?

The standard level is lossy, but the ratio stays inside the range where the eye cannot tell. If the image is headed for print or further editing, use the light level or set the max edge to keep the original size.

Can PNG be compressed?

Yes, though PNG is lossless so there is not much room. If you do not need a transparent background, switch the output format to JPG or WebP and the file gets much smaller.

Why did some images get bigger?

If an image was already compressed once, running it through again may not pay off. In that case just use the original. The page shows the before and after size so you can judge.
